Bandwidth Version 1 has been discontinued, and users are encouraged to migrate to Bandwidth V2 for sending and receiving text messages with the Vodia PBX. To start, set up a Bandwidth account, purchase a number and create a messaging application with the necessary callback URL. You will need your User ID API token and secret from the Bandwidth account to integrate SMS messaging in Vodia PBX. Once configured, users can send SMS directly through the Vodia user portal. Hosting Vodia PBX in Google Cloud

To set up the Vodia PBX on Google Cloud, start by creating a VM instance in Google Cloud's Compute Engine - choose a region, zone and a compatible operating system, like Debian. Once the instance is running, configure firewall rules to allow essential ports, such as 80, 443 and SIP-specific ports (5060/5061) to enable communication. Use SSH to install the Vodia PBX by downloading and executing the installation script. After installation, configure the Vodia PBX login, then adjust IP routing settings to recognize the Google Cloud NAT by specifying internal and external IPs. This setup helps you effectively run the Vodia PBX in a cloud environment with secure, remote access and full functionality.

The Vodia Networks Multi-Tenant (MT) edition now supports the creation of X.509 certificates using the ACME protocol, which can be facilitated through HTTP and DNS challenges. This feature allows administrators to establish a Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN) on the PBX, enhancing security with HTTPS. To create a domain, users log in to their Vodia Cloud PBX, navigate to the domain section and set up an A record in their DNS provider (like GoDaddy). Once the domain is established, the PBX can automatically manage certificates, including renewal and deletion, ensuring secure management access.
