What is Automatic Call Distribution?

Automatic Call Distribution (ACD) is a system that efficiently routes incoming calls to a group of agents, placing callers in a queue with hold music or announcements to prevent lost calls. It's especially beneficial in call centers, where it allows multiple agents to assist customers without waiting for specific individuals. Key features include call logging, advanced routing, performance tracking and CRM integration, all designed to enhance customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.

Benefits of Hot Desking

Hot desking allows employees to log in to any available phone in an office, enabling them to retain their direct numbers, caller ID and voicemail access from any desk. This flexibility reduces the need for dedicated workstations, helping companies cut costs on office space and equipment while enhancing mobility and adaptability for employees. It also fosters communication and collaboration by letting employees switch workspaces as needed. The Vodia PBX hot desking feature supports this functionality by allowing users to easily log in and out of phones using a secure PIN, ensuring seamless call handling and improved productivity.

Let's encrypt with the Vodia PBX

The Vodia Networks Multi-Tenant (MT) edition now supports the creation of X.509 certificates using the ACME protocol, which can be facilitated through HTTP and DNS challenges. This feature allows administrators to establish a Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN) on the PBX, enhancing security with HTTPS. To create a domain, users log in to their Vodia Cloud PBX, navigate to the domain section and set up an A record in their DNS provider (like GoDaddy). Once the domain is established, the PBX can automatically manage certificates, including renewal and deletion, ensuring secure management access.

Weekly and Monthly Reports

Vodia PBX now enables users to schedule reports beyond daily intervals - the PBX now supports weekly, monthly, and quarterly options. Reports can be combined, such as “0:00/week 0:00/month,” to send both weekly and monthly reports at midnight. Caution is necessary, however, when scheduling quarterly reports on busy systems (due to performance concerns). The web interface now offers period selection for reports, such as the current or previous day, week, or month. While this simplifies report generation, large systems should be mindful of potential slowdowns when accessing large amounts of data. The "Try" button continues to generate daily reports.

How to configure Voip.ms with the Vodia PBX

This article explains how to configure a SIP trunk with VoIP.ms on the Vodia PBX, starting with ensuring your system is properly set up with NAT, firewall checks, and correct SIP settings. After configuring your VoIP.ms account, including setting the device type and dialing mode, you'll gather necessary details like the username, password, DID numbers, and registrar server. In the Vodia PBX, create a new SIP trunk and input the VoIP.ms settings such as registrar, username, and password. You'll then configure how incoming calls are routed, either based on the Request-URI or directing them to a specific account. Once completed, save the settings and the trunk will register automatically (with the dial plan generated for you).
