The Vodia PBX has enhanced its communication capabilities by integrating Twilio’s SMS and MMS API, allowing users to send and receive messages directly from the Vodia platform. This integration supports seamless messaging across Vodia applications, including Windows, web browsers and mobile apps. To get started, users need a Vodia PBX license, a Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN), a Let's Encrypt certificate and an active Twilio account. After purchasing a Twilio DID number for SMS and voice, you’ll configure the webhook settings in Twilio to direct incoming messages to your Vodia PBX. In the Vodia admin panel, input the required Twilio credentials and save your settings.

In an attempt to stay true to our tagline – Where VoIP is Easy – Vodia has created two new browser extensions: One for Chrome and one for Mozilla Firefox. These extensions allow you to now click-to-dial right from the browser window, without having to copy and paste the number into your browser client, or even manually entering the number on the desk phone. Simply highlight the number you want to call, right click, and then choose where you want the call to go through (browser or deskphone). Of course, you’ll need to input your Vodia credentials into the extension popup before you can make a call, but once that is done, you are off to the races!

Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) is a signaling protocol used to initiate, maintain and terminate multimedia communication sessions such as voice and video calls over the Internet. It is similar to HTTP but for real-time communications, serving as the backbone for most VoIP (Voice over IP) services. SIP manages these sessions but doesn't handle the media itself. To integrate the Vodia PBX with Microsoft Teams, you need to configure both systems to enable seamless communication. First, set up a domain in the Vodia PBX, create Teams-specific extensions and configure a SIP trunk for Teams. In Microsoft Teams, configure Direct Routing by creating a PSTN gateway for the PBX, enabling users for enterprise voice services and assigning routing policies through PowerShell. This integration allows Teams users to act as extensions on the PBX, enabling features like call groups and voicemail while maintaining SIP phone support for non-Teams users.
