Vodia Networks has released version 67.0 of its multi-tenant cloud PBX, building on version 66.0 with enhanced features for a more flexible and productive remote work experience. Key improvements include the ability to set working hours at both the extension and domain levels, preventing phones from ringing too early. The update also introduces two-factor authentication for increased security, using either email or SMS for login codes. Version 67.0 further enhances the PBX with more SMS provider options, personalized ringtones and the ability to upload customer logos in PNG format.

Vodia's paging account now supports Google Text-to-Speech via REST API, allowing SIP devices to broadcast text as speech. This is particularly useful for institutions like schools, factories and and hospitals - prompts are cached to avoid repeated API calls, enhancing efficiency. Compatible devices include Cyber Data paging units, desktop phones and any SIP-capable paging system using multicast or unicast. To test this feature, administrators can use simple curl commands to trigger text-to-speech messages via the Vodia PBX, making it ideal for efficient communication.

Vodia's phone system offers seamless music on hold using the Easy On Hold service, which enhances the customer experience during wait times. The hold feature, originally patented by Albert Levy, allows for managing multiple calls efficiently, keeping one caller engaged while addressing another. Easy On Hold streams in unicast mode, enabling the same stream to be shared across Vodia's multi-tenant PBX. To implement this, a routable IP is required, and opening the appropriate inbound port for streaming may be necessary.

To configure VoIP Innovation SMS with Vodia PBX, start by ensuring you have Vodia version 66.0.7, a VoIP Innovations account, and a purchased DID number. Log in to your VoIP Innovations account, create an SMS-only API app using Apidaze, and set the SMS request URL to your PBX domain. Assign your DID number to this app for SMS functionality. Then, in the Vodia PBX, enable SMS at the domain level and configure the messaging settings by entering the API key, secret and SMS DID. Finally, test the SMS feature using the Vodia Windows App by sending a message to a number formatted as 1XXXXXXXXXX.

With the Vodia Callcenter feature, administrators can effectively manage the flow of incoming calls to their Automatic Call Distribution (ACD) groups by setting a maximum limit on the number of calls allowed simultaneously. This configuration can be found in the ACD group settings, where users can select a maximum number ranging from 2 to 25 calls. This feature is particularly useful for distributing calls across multiple ACD groups or for controlling overall call flow to ensure the system doesn't become overwhelmed. By implementing this setting, organizations can enhance their call management and improve customer service efficiency. To send a Vodia QR code for the Vodia App, you need to configure your PBX to send a welcome email containing a 2D QR code to your subscribers. First, ensure your Vodia setup has a Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN), a valid certificate (like one generated through Let's Encrypt) and an email service provider such as Google SMTP or AWS SMTP. Log in to the Vodia PBX, navigate to the administrator settings under Security, and enable the option to "Include 2D barcode in user welcome email." Save your changes, and the QR code will be automatically sent to new users, allowing them to easily access their extension account on the Vodia App.

Once completed the system will take initial payment by Debit/Credit Card and set up a recurring monthly Direct Debit (both using the reseller’s payment gateways). The platform immediately provisions the PBX, Domain, SSL Certificate, DNS, Extensions, SIP Trunks, Hunt Groups, Dial Plans, DIDs, Number Purchases, Number Porting, all without any work from the reseller.
