How to Sell More Business Phone Systems with the Right PBX

Helping a business choose the right phone system starts with understanding its real needs... lower costs, better communication, stronger integrations, support for remote teams and more flexibility. For MSPs, asking the right questions makes it easier to recommend the right features, hardware and deployment model, while Vodia provides the technology, partner support and new Partner Portal needed to build stronger customer relationships, create recurring revenue and grow their communications business.

Customers don't buy phone systems. They buy better communication, lower costs, and flexibility. For MSPs, understanding those goals is the key to winning more business.

Vodia has been devoted to the channel since our inception, and we consider the Managed Service Providers (MSPs) who sell Vodia our partners. We’re a relationship-first company, and we only succeed when our partners succeed. We provide you with complete training and deployment support, and then we’re by your side every step of the way with white-glove support.

Why MSPs choose Vodia

MSPs choose Vodia because it gives them complete control over how they build and deliver their voice services. Partners can deploy the platform on-premises, in private cloud environments, or through leading cloud marketplaces while maintaining full control over branding, licensing, pricing, and customer relationships. With true multi-tenant architecture, an open SIP ecosystem, broad device compatibility, built-in monitoring and operational visibility, and a partner program designed to support long-term growth, Vodia gives MSPs the flexibility to grow their business while maintaining control over their services and customer relationships.

Vodia key features

We've built the most flexible, scalable, feature-rich business communications platform for service providers, MSPs, and enterprises:

  1. The Vodia phone system comprises the most complete suite of robust business telephony features for cloud and on-premises, including auto attendant, call recording, conference calls, CRM integration, Microsoft Teams integration, paging, and SMS.
  2. The Vodia PBX turns any mobile phone, laptop, tablet, or PC into a VoIP client for everyday communication - from anywhere, at any time.
  3. Vodia’s proprietary, built-from-the-ground-up PBX offers true cloud multi-tenancy, integrations with CRMs, hospitality platforms, MS Teams, SMS, and Android and IOS mobile apps.
  4. The free Vodia app is a fast, simple way to connect smartphones.
  5. With the Vodia phone system, you can define office hours and avoid calls prior to SOBD or after COB with easy login and logout for employees; our platform also enables the separation of personal and professional calls.
  6. Employees can message each other directly, without having to rely on outside commercial apps like Messenger, Viber, and WhatsApp for messaging, telephone, and video calls.
  7. Vodia extensions and MS Teams extensions communicate seamlessly with each other out of the box; MS Teams members can belong to agent groups or hunt groups and make and receive outbound calls.

Selling your own brand

At Vodia, we empower our channel partners to sell their own brands and to make their own bundles. We don’t want you to give away your business. We want you to be your own phone company. Your brand comes first.

Why does the customer want a new phone system?

Most companies won’t even consider a new phone system unless they are compelled to do so because they need to save money, because their current system no longer has the features they need, or because the company’s team is now dispersed and they need a cloud phone system to create and maintain a collaborative and effective hybrid work environment.

You’ll need to find out what your potential customer needs for a “baseline” phone system, so it’s important to ask the right questions, so you’ll have a better understanding of what the company is looking for, the ideal phone system for this customer, and the timeframe for installation and deployment, while simultaneously helping the customer bring what the organization needs into focus, one of the most important services an MSP can provide to a business.

Planning the Solution

After answering your potential customer’s “why,” it’s time to figure out “what” and “how.” You’ll need to determine what specific needs the new phone system will meet and what features, hardware, and phones are required. Does the customer have existing digital/analog phone lines? A plan to keep them? If so, a VoIP gateway will be necessary. What are the customer’s expectations regarding AI functionality?

You should also determine what peripheral hardware, such as conference room and door phones, and intercoms, will be necessary to build a bespoke communications ecosystem for your customer. Whatever devices your customer chooses, Vodia supports a wide range of certified SIP phones, ATAs, DECT systems, door phones and other VoIP devices.

CRM Integration

Will CRM integration be required? If so, Vodia supports the industry’s best CRM platforms MS Teams, Salesforce and Zoho (for a complete list, please visit our integrations page). And If your customer’s CRM isn’t supported by Vodia, this gives you an upsell opportunity to develop a bespoke integration. We can help you get it done.

The Vodia Partner Portal and Partner Program

We designed our new partner portal and partner program to make the entire partnership process quick, comprehensive, and cost-effective. We want to give our partners a streamlined, self-service way to license, sell, and deploy our best-in-class PBX. Shaped by partner feedback, the portal brings license management, partner levels, pre-qualified leads, marketing resources, and access to professional services into one place. Partner certification unlocks progression beyond onboarding, while a welcome package rewards partners at first login.

Whether you're onboarding your first customer or expanding your UC offering, the Vodia Partner Portal gives you the tools, resources, and support to grow your business. If you'd like to learn more, contact us at sales@vodia.com or +1 (617) 861-3490
