Version 69.2.4 of The Vodia Phone System Now Available

Vodia recently released version 69.2.4, the latest update to their industry-leading cloud phone system. This update boasts a completely rebuilt frontend, providing a modern user experience, and integrates seamlessly with nearly any browser-based platform. A key feature is integration with Grafana, a powerful tool that enables comprehensive monitoring of Vodia instances across various platforms. Version 69.2.4 also brings several other improvements, including the ability to add custom notes to accounts, sending CDR emails for regular extensions, and enhanced support for Mitel 68xx and 69xx series phones.

Vodia is thrilled to announce the release of version 69.2.4, the most recent update of version 69 of our industry-standard cloud phone system.

In January 2023 we released version 69.0.0. Version 69 features an entirely rebuilt frontend and, with its WebRTC backend, it provides users with a soft phone that integrates with just about all platforms that run a browser. It makes our PBX more widely available and enables us to deliver an impressive range of features independent of SIP or any other standards.

Version 69 has also been designed for passkeys. Passwords are still acceptable, as many users still depend on them, but passkeys make our PBX much easier to access - and more secure. Passkeys are available today in almost every browser, and at Vodia we think everyone should be using them.

Our unyielding commitment to innovation continues with the release of 69.2.4, the most stable version yet. We have improved its functionality and added new features.

One of the features we’re most excited about is our integration with Grafana. Vodia customers can now deploy Grafana with our phone system. Grafana is a tool that enables the monitoring of Vodia instances across different platforms and determines the status of any endpoint. Vodia system status graphs, which keep track of critical resources over a 24-hour period and display them as graphs to system and tenant administrators, can now be viewed on Grafana. This is a great way for MSPs to keep track of customer endpoints; it’s also a great way for enterprises to monitor a large number of endpoints and to ascertain the functionality of additional endpoints as scale is increased.

Other additions and improvements include:

  • Accounts: We have added a general note field for all accounts. Administrators can use this field without interfering with any PBX functionality.
  • CDR emails: It is now possible to send CDR emails for regular extensions.
  • HTTP client: Version 69.2.4 now permits the use of multiple AAAA- and A-DNS records for locating the server. This makes it easier to implement failover on HTTP.
  • Hubspot: We fixed the problem with DSA certificates.
  • Mitel: Improved support for Mitel 68xx- and 69xx-series phones.
  • REST API: We added an API request for displaying statistics on Grafana. This request can now be used to monitor overall status at system, tenant, trunk and extension level; it can also monitor registration status over a previous 24-hour period.
  • Shiji: Now returns a result to requests, even if they throw an error.
  • SIP: Improved timeout behavior when clearing calls. Decrement Max-Forwards when using the B2BUA to improve loop behavior.
  • SMS: We added the possibility to send to a policy, triggering sending messages to all participants. This can be used to send bulk SMS.
  • Snom: You can now use park button mode instead of BLF mode for park orbits.
  • Trunks: Global trunks using TLS or TCP didn’t send responses back over the same connection, which meant the trunk failover could trigger false alarms if the call didn’t connect fast enough. This has been fixed.
  • User front end: We added a default setting for using a web browser or VoIP phone for the whole tenant, and we removed a glitch that occurred when subscribing to own state (including DND) when permissions aren’t set.

Version 69.2.4, the most robust and secure version of our PBX to date, is the perfect version if you’re looking to install a new PBX, or if your customers are looking for cutting-edge features. Why Fax Still Matters in 2025 and How Vodia Makes It Easy

Although many consider fax outdated, it continues to play a crucial role in sectors where compliance, confidentiality, and legal proof of delivery are non-negotiable. Healthcare providers rely on fax to meet HIPAA requirements, while industries such as finance, law, and real estate depend on it for contracts and documents that require signatures or legally verifiable transmission. Unlike email, fax offers confirmation reports that serve as proof of receipt, along with time-stamped records that hold up in legal proceedings. With Vodia’s PBX, digital fax becomes faster, easier, and more accessible than ever before, enabling users to drag and drop documents, monitor transmission progress, and receive immediate confirmations.

The Vodia PBX and SAML Integration

Vodia PBX now supports SAML integration, offering a secure and standards-based method for enterprise users to access their phone system through single sign-on. SAML, or Security Assertion Markup Language, allows employees to authenticate in one system and access other systems without managing multiple passwords, improving both security and user experience. By exchanging digitally signed SAML Assertions between Identity Providers and Service Providers, Vodia ensures seamless authentication across internal and external applications. With this integration, IT teams can simplify user management, reduce login complexity, and maintain strong security controls for business communications.
