Did you know you can install up to 18 languages in the Vodia cloud phone system? Our commitment to innovation is global: we want as many people as possible worldwide to access our feature-rich, robust, secure PBX.

Vodia uses AI language models as a component of speech-enabled applications requiring the conversion of speech to text and text to speech in these 18 languages. This is a short overview of our translation and transcription features - we have provided links to specific documentation for detailed instructions.

The languages you can download the audio for are:

  • Arabic
  • Danish
  • Dutch
  • English (AU, UK, USA)
  • French (CA, FR)
  • German
  • Greek
  • Italian
  • Japanese
  • Polish
  • Portuguese
  • Russian
  • Spanish
  • Swedish
  • Turkish

To install additional languages in the Vodia PBX from this list, select one or more of the links available on our documentation page and use them in the software update section.

Next, you can visit our translation page to modify the text for the language you have selected, if necessary.

Providing translations in a large number of languages isn’t an easy task, and we are always seeking to improve our features and functionality. Please feel free to pass along any corrections or improvements you might make!

Google provides a powerful API, and we are currently using this feature to convert voicemail recordings to text - and to include this text in the email notification delivered to the user. You must enable this API in the Google Cloud console.  For additional information on this service, you can visit Google Cloud Speech-to-Text and Vodia Documentation.

You can also go from text to speech.  This comes into play with the IVR nodes and auto attendants. Instead of uploading an audio file, you can type in the text of your message and it will convert that text to audio.
