How to send a Vodia QR code for the Vodia App

To send a Vodia QR code for the Vodia App, you need to configure your PBX to send a welcome email containing a 2D QR code to your subscribers. First, ensure your Vodia setup has a Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN), a valid certificate (like one generated through Let's Encrypt) and an email service provider such as Google SMTP or AWS SMTP. Log in to the Vodia PBX, navigate to the administrator settings under Security, and enable the option to "Include 2D barcode in user welcome email." Save your changes, and the QR code will be automatically sent to new users, allowing them to easily access their extension account on the Vodia App.

They say it’s the year of the app, but apps have come a long way: they have improved the way we communicate, from playing a video game on the train to getting support from your Vodia App. But how can you get your customer's extension account on his or her Vodia App?

Since the Vodia PBX is an SMTP client, you can configure the PBX to send out a welcome email with a 2D QR code to your subscribers; to do this we will have to activate a few settings on the PBX.

Requirements

  • Vodia needs to be a FQDN
  • Must have a certificate, such as the Vodia Let's Encrypt generator
  • Email Like, Google SMTP or AWS SMTP

Activating the 2D QR Code

  • Log in to your the PBX and navigate to the Administrator level, then navigate to security --> General
  • Turn on the following setting:  Include 2D barcode in user welcome email
  • Save the configuration

Your Outdated Phone System Is Costing Your Company Money

Legacy phone systems may still work, but they often come with hidden costs, limited scalability, and little support for hybrid work. Cloud-based VoIP systems remove these constraints by reducing telephony expenses, improving flexibility, and enabling teams to communicate seamlessly from anywhere. For many organizations, modernizing business telephony is no longer optional, it is a practical step toward efficiency and resilience.
