Vodia: A Decade of AI - And the Perfect Choice for APAC Resellers

Vodia has been a pioneer in AI technology since its inception, and while AI, including ChatGPT, is currently in the spotlight, our AI-powered auto-attendant has been a cornerstone of cloud phone systems for decades. We continue to lead in providing innovative AI-driven features and functionalities, collaborating with startups in the APAC region, and supporting Managed Service Providers to build strong, cost-effective businesses around our cutting-edge phone system.

AI technology, particularly ChatGPT, is what they describe as “all the rage” right now, but did you know that Vodia has been using AI since its inception? Our auto-attendant uses AI, based on system setup. Over the decades, AI technology has significantly evolved, going beyond the management of auto-attendants in a cloud phone system and has certainly become more dynamic than our ubiquitous auto-attendant, and both SMBs and enterprises are now exploring a myriad of possibilities.

Vodia has been providing speech-to-text and text-to-speech capabilities for creating voice messages, and call transcriptions, especially for use in courts and emergency services, for quite some time now. CRM integrations share a similarity to these functionalities. When a caller calls in, the CLI number is sent to the CRM, triggering a  screen pop that displays the customer's name and details. All these features are powered by the same artificial intelligence we have been deploying for years.

So Vodia has a long history as a pioneer and leader in AI-driven features, and we continue to build on this foundation as we develop even more dynamic and easy-to-use features and functionalities. In the APAC region, Vodia is collaborating with a number of AI startups to provide visual auto-attendants and other AI-supported features, aiming to simplify setup processes and enhance productivity for potential Vodia resellers.

In this rapidly expanding region, we have observed that as we gain market share we find ourselves engaged with a diverse range of organizations with varying levels of technical and telephony expertise. Despite our wonderful and growing customer base, it’s evident that many of them have limited knowledge when it comes to telephony and networking. To illustrate this, consider the ubiquitous 7-11 stores (corner shops, or “bodegas” if you’re in New York City, for purchasing groceries) found on countless city corners worldwide. While they understand the value proposition of Vodia as a revenue stream model and serve a broad customer base, they lack insights into the installation, deployment and maintenance of Vodia, leading to a limited understanding of the remarkable features and capabilities our phone system offers.

In the APAC market we have constantly positioned Vodia as a development company rather than a hosting provider. However, beyond development, we have diligently expanded the Vodia ecosystem to enable AI companies to utilize their software for enhancing the phone system’s value. This entails testing, maintaining and improving  its features and functionality.

Our goal is to help this emerging breed of Managed Service Providers (MSPs) to build a robust and sustainable business model centered around our innovative phone system. We not only offer a true value proposition to these companies, we also reduce their support requirement, thereby reducing costs and minimizing the time lost to maintenance and support calls.

Vodia has empowered thousands of businesses worldwide with cutting-edge cloud and on-premise IP PBX technology. The Vodia PBX offers high-quality professional voice, video and chat functionalities. Our system is developed and programmed entirely in-house, ensuring minimal exposure to malware threats. Thanks to our multi-client capability and integration framework, almost any work process can be optimized and integrated. Desk phones, mobile apps, or both? Choosing the right setup for business calls

Desk phones and mobile apps both have a place in modern business communications. IP desk phones remain a strong choice for receptionists, support teams, customer service agents, and employees who handle a high volume of calls from a fixed location. Mobile apps, on the other hand, give remote, hybrid, and field-based users access to their business extension wherever they work. For many organizations, the best answer is not choosing one over the other, but using both through the same PBX environment so every user has the right calling tool for their role.
