Today, two of the most critical components of any hospitality property are its phone system (PBX) and the Property Management System (PMS). Both the PBX and PMS are going through a rapid modernization trend in the hospitality industry with most of the hotels migrating from traditional TDM based systems to their more modern IP based kin. Traditional PBXs are being replaced by IP based PBXs to benefit from the advantages the new VoIP technology. Traditional Property Management Systems (PMS) are also being replaced by more modern IP based systems that can seamlessly integrate with other IP based systems and services.

WOBURN, MA. – September. 22, 2014 – Vodia Networks, a leading provider of IPPBX and Call center software, announced today the availability of a Hotel PMS module for its Vodia PBX software that will enable seamless integration with hospitality Property Management Systems (PMS) used in hotels and other hospitality environments. Available as an add-on license, the new PMS functionality will allow hoteliers to deploy the Vodia PBX in combination with over 70 compliant PMS systems and increase the efficiency of the property by automating the essential functions of the front-desk and housekeeping.

Vodia’s PMS module will enable the Vodia PBX and the PMS on the property to synchronize the status of hotel guests, rooms and other housekeeping functions between the PBX and the front desk. For example, a guest check-in can automatically update the Vodia PBX to log all calls placed by the guest during the stay and have the phone bill included in the guest’s invoice at check-out time. Maid codes initiated by housekeeping from the room phone can automatically notify the front desk that the particular room has been cleaned and is ready for the next guest. Guest extensions can be set to Do-not-Disturb in case the guest does not wish to receive any calls. External calls for any guest can be restricted by setting a credit limit for the guest at the front desk which automatically notifies the Vodia PBX to restrict calls for the guest accordingly. Multi-property hotel chains can further lower infrastructure costs by integrating all on-site PMS systems to a single Vodia PBX system in the cloud.

“We have been seeing a lot of interest from the hospitality customers for a robust phone system that can be deployed alongside their existing PMS systems. Since Vodia PBX is already one of the leading PBX products in the industry, our new PMS functionality will now allow hotels to not only benefit from the feature richness of the Vodia PBX but also help them automate their front-desk functions, save time on guest check-ins and lower the total cost of ownership of the overall system by using IP based trunks. We are very excited with this new development and are looking forward to reach out to a whole new set of customers.” says Ahmar Ghaffar, VP Sales and Marketing at Vodia Networks.

Vodia Version 70.2 - Run Multiple Licenses on the Same Virtual Machine

V70.2 introduces more flexible licensing for multi-tenant PBX deployments by allowing service providers to assign prepaid licenses directly to tenants within a postpaid environment. Once assigned, the tenant uses the prepaid license independently, and the underlying postpaid license no longer counts that tenant. This gives MSPs and hosted PBX providers more flexibility in how they structure customer licensing while continuing to operate tenants on shared infrastructure, reducing operating costs and simplifying large-scale multi-tenant deployments.
