Rival5 Technologies Corporation ("Rival5") is a Mokena, IL-based company specializing in Managed Cloud Communications solutions. Since Rival5 was founded in 2011, the company has partnered with a variety of businesses, healthcare facilities, educational institutions – 75 percent of its business – and other entities to change the way they communicate. Rival5’s turnkey approach provides a robust, simple telecommunication solution, enabling its customers to focus on what they do best. Known for its impeccable customer service, Rival5 brings in and supports its traffic over existing internet connections and data networks - eliminating separate circuits, routers or the need to recreate topologies while providing end users with the most innovative telephony available.
Rival5 was using Enswitch, a softswitch for commercial carrier and enterprise telephony services. They couldn’t give Rival5 pay-per-seat unless it was on a scale mostly too large for its customers, which are school districts and medical offices, many of them family-owned. Rival5 was also dissatisfied with the availability of features its customers wanted, and the company couldn’t customize or develop the software itself.
Rival5 simply switched from Enswitch to Vodia – the company began with the first iteration of Vodia, Pbxnsip, then Snom One, then Vodia. Vodia gave Rival5 a per-seat license, instead of an enterprise PBX license, as well as the ability to customize and develop the software and seamless multi-tenant features.
Rival5 found deploying Vodia was easy and intuitive. Vodia enabled Rival5 to scale its PBX offerings in parallel with its growth. Quite simply, the company isn’t paying for anything it doesn’t use, which Rival5 considers an absolute plus.
Rival5 loves that they can pick a specific type of seat that’s reflected in the available feature sets and/or the permissions to the extensions; the company is also quite pleased with the back end, in terms of pricing.
