Vodia Networks (“Vodia”), maker of cutting-edge software-based telephone systems, is pleased to announce it will host a joint webinar with anynode, a software-based Session Border Controller (SBC) that enables multiple SIP-Endpoints to communicate with one another seamlessly. Vodia announced the interoperability of its best-in-class cloud PBX with the anynode configuration wizard on December 9, 2021.

The Vodia PBX Is Now Part of the Anynode Configuration Wizard

Burlington, MA – January 28, 2022 – Vodia Networks (“Vodia”), maker of cutting-edge software-based telephone systems, is pleased to announce it will host a joint webinar with anynode, a software-based Session Border Controller (SBC) that enables multiple SIP-Endpoints to communicate with one another seamlessly. Vodia announced the interoperability of its best-in-class cloud PBX with the anynode configuration wizard on December 9, 2021.

With the Vodia PBX and anynode, organizations can now address large requirements from the Teams side and from the classical PBX side. The Vodia PBX can be run on-premises, operated by the organization itself, or run in a multi-tenant environment as a service, so organizations don’t have to operate the PBX themselves. This especially makes sense with Office 365 – anynode makes it possible to connect to Microsoft Cloud with nothing more than a SIP Trunk and the anynode SBC.

“We are thrilled to be part of anynode’s configuration wizard, thanks to TE-Systems, whose team understands the value of strategic partners and collaboration,” said Kyle Asbury, Director of Sales and Marketing, Vodia. “Vodia is a relationship-first organization, as is anynode, and core to this webinar is the invitation to the channel to work with us in the context of a long-term, progressive, supportive relationship with both of our companies, one I am certain is going to produce more cutting-edge solutions as we press forward.”

The February 17, 2022, webinar will delineate all of the advantages of the interoperability of the Vodia cloud PBX with anynode and explain how to leverage this dynamic partnership. Register here: https://my.demio.com/ref/DF0DJaQaHnDqnceN

“We are looking forward to sharing with resellers how the anynode SBC fully integrates with Teams and with the Zoom phone system, and how Vodia is the perfect robust, feature-rich PBX for our configuration wizard,” said Edwin Oyakhilome, SVP of Business Development, anynode. “The wizard is user-friendly and easy to use, as is Vodia’s PBX, and we’re looking forward to illuminating what an outstanding combination this is for organizations of any and every size.”

The anynode SBC is an entirely software-based solution that works as an interface for any number of SIP UAs, including SIP phones, SIP PBXs and SIP providers – it converts port and directory information, provides security, routes session traffic and performs manipulation of call numbers. The anynode configuration wizard offers numerous options to shape different scenarios and make installation extremely easy; it only takes a few steps to connect SIP providers with a SIP-PBX and, with Microsoft Direct Routing and anynode, users can connect with almost any telephony trunk or interconnect with a third-party PBX.

“Vodia has been the pace setter when it comes to multi-tenancy and innovative technology in the Unified Communication world, and making its best-in-class cloud PBX part of our configuration wizard will enable providers to spin up SIP trunks with nothing more than a few clicks, said Enrique Amaro, Business Development Director USA, APAC & LATAM, TE-SYSTEMS. “Our goal with this joint webinar is to take attendees through the process so they can leverage this incredible opportunity.”

WLAN and VoIP: What You Need to Know

As businesses increasingly adopt Wireless Local Area Networks (WLAN), understanding its impact on Voice over IP (VoIP) is essential. While WLAN offers flexibility and mobility, it can lead to call quality issues due to packet loss and bursts during access point switching. To combat these challenges, organizations can utilize robust codecs like OPUS which are designed to handle packet loss effectively and employ Session Border Controllers (SBCs) to enhance jitter buffers. By incorporating these solutions, companies can ensure a more reliable VoIP experience that meets the demands of modern workplaces, allowing seamless communication without interruptions.

Call Forwarding Glitches

In the late 1980s, prank calls were a common form of entertainment but often caused confusion, similar to today’s call forwarding glitches. Recently, a client migrating to a new PBX system experienced disruptions when users mistyped numbers for call forwarding. While user errors are common, there's a bigger concern: calls being misdirected to emergency numbers or costly lines, especially since many VoIP phones lack security features. Solutions include restricting call forwarding to internal numbers, blocking access or allowing only specific, pre-approved numbers. Ultimately, balancing control over settings is essential to prevent glitches while keeping systems user-friendly.
