Vodia Networks, Inc. reveals its collaboration with Veriva Systems, a leading provider of CMS offering advanced features such as mobile and on-premise voice call recordings, AI-driven voice-to-text transcription and data analytics. This partnership guarantees thorough recording of business communications, ensuring adherence to banking compliance regulations, while seamlessly integrating mobile and office communication channels. Notably, sales calls originating from mobile phones are seamlessly routed through office landlines, eliminating the requirement for separate devices.

Burlington, MA - 27 February 2024: Vodia Networks, Inc., a pioneering provider of B2B Cloud Communications Solutions catering to enterprises, contact centers and service providers, today announced its interoperability with Veriva Systems (Veriva), a cloud-based business mobility solutions company based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, with two decades of providing compliance management solutions to banking and financial institutions, Veriva simplifies critical customer interaction records by combining visualization with data analytics.

The Vodia - Veriva partnership offers numerous benefits to businesses of all sizes, including enterprises:

  • All business communications are recorded
  • Businesses can retain all customer phone numbers
  • Full banking compliance (calls are recorded on-premise)
  • No publication of employee name cards
  • Sales calls to customers are from official business numbers, not personal mobile numbers
  • True separation of office and personal numbers

For salespeople, particularly financial traders, relationship managers and wealth managers, all calls from mobile phones are routed from an office landline to a SIP trunk, and an office number appears on all calls. This means there’s no need for salespeople and other employees to use both a business device and a personal device. Vodia isn’t replacing Veriva customers’ PBX but merely extending these customers’ phone systems from landlines to mobile phones. Once the phone system has been deployed, Veriva can record it, making the Vodia mobile app an extension of any office extension.

Veriva will install Vodia on-premise, particularly if the customer is a bank - if not, the cloud is acceptable. Incoming calls have to be forwarded to the DID number on the Vodia phone system, which is done by the customer’s existing phone system. Alternatively, if the customer wants to connect an analogue extension to the Vodia on-premise system, and that analogue extension is considered a forwarded extension, one per employee, each analogue extension is considered as CO into the Vodia phone system.

“Our integration with Veriva Systems moves Vodia’s feature-rich, robust and secure phone system into new applications and strengthens Vodia’s integration capability. It demonstrates we are the perfect phone system for finance companies,” said Rupert Utteridge, Sales, Marketing & Support, Vodia Networks. “Mobile phones are becoming the endpoints of choice at most companies, both SMBs and enterprises,” Mr. Utteridge added. “Mobile users have options to make and receive calls either by 3G, 4G and 5G or through Wifi connectivity - this means mobiles already have redundancy built in, which means by default Vodia extensions have redundancy of transport layer. This redundancy is key to the availability of call access, and using the Vodia app with WebRTC means security is built in. Our competitors and their SIP apps don’t offer the same security or features we do. I expect our partnership with Veriva Systems will bear much fruit for both companies, and I’m excited to see what we achieve together.”

WLAN and VoIP: What You Need to Know

As businesses increasingly adopt Wireless Local Area Networks (WLAN), understanding its impact on Voice over IP (VoIP) is essential. While WLAN offers flexibility and mobility, it can lead to call quality issues due to packet loss and bursts during access point switching. To combat these challenges, organizations can utilize robust codecs like OPUS which are designed to handle packet loss effectively and employ Session Border Controllers (SBCs) to enhance jitter buffers. By incorporating these solutions, companies can ensure a more reliable VoIP experience that meets the demands of modern workplaces, allowing seamless communication without interruptions.

Call Forwarding Glitches

In the late 1980s, prank calls were a common form of entertainment but often caused confusion, similar to today’s call forwarding glitches. Recently, a client migrating to a new PBX system experienced disruptions when users mistyped numbers for call forwarding. While user errors are common, there's a bigger concern: calls being misdirected to emergency numbers or costly lines, especially since many VoIP phones lack security features. Solutions include restricting call forwarding to internal numbers, blocking access or allowing only specific, pre-approved numbers. Ultimately, balancing control over settings is essential to prevent glitches while keeping systems user-friendly.
