We are pleased to announce a new build of Vodia’s industry-leading phone system, 69.3, is now available.
The "theme" of this release is to help make the PBX rock solid even in challenging environments. This includes more and better logging and more resilience for packet bursts, especially for mobile devices.
As always, before you upgrade you should make a backup and review your backup strategy - we have published a backup script if you’re running Linux. If you wish, you can add a command that lifts the backups into your cloud storage; this means any hardware failure will not disrupt the PBX.
Here are the other additions and improvements we’ve made:
- Admin Front End: When you add audio, the file will automatically convert to the right format when possible (this will also be done in the user front end).
- Australian Numbers: We have added handling for 130 Australian numbers.
- Avaya Support: Additional modes on buttons, including DND and call forwarding, are now available; we have also added a fixed Avaya messages waiting indicator.
- The CDR: The CDR now contains the SIP packets for the call, the pressed DTMF keys and the call’s RTP statistics. There is a new setting to control whether or not PCAP RTP should contain the audio.
- Cloud Storage: The interface for storing call recordings in the cloud is now available via the administrator web frontend.
- Fanvil: We added the Fanvil X210i paging console phone to our list of supported devices.
- Grandstream: We added the DP755 DECT VoIP base station to our list of supported devices.
- Hotline Setting: We added a hotline setting to dial a number when going off hook (for certain devices).
- HTTP Client: The HTTP client will now check both IPv4 and IPv6 when locating the server; the system will prefer IPv4 by default.
- Login: We have added additional checks to guide users through passkey setup. The password warning now clears when the user attempts a different password.
- Mailbox: When listening to long envelope headers, the user can now skip to the message using the pound symbol (#). We improved the spelling of numbers, and messages aren’t automatically purged in all cases.
- Redirection: We have added new settings to define what numbers are allowed for redirection.
- Registration Refresh: For devices that support sending CRLF keep alive traffic, the PBX will automatically reduce the registration interval.
- Room Setting: We have added a room setting for every extension - this can be used for reporting locations for emergency calls.
- RTP Burst: The PBX now automatically buffers RTP packets coming from apps when bursts exceed typical desktop phone size (150 ms).
- Snom: The SRAPS-generated credentials expired after some time, which required a new entry for the account password - this is now handled automatically. We have added SP800, D812 and D815 to our list of supported devices.
- Statistics: More information is now available for the overall performance of the system, including the number of page faults, processing delays and main CPU usage; the graphs are now available through Prometheus.
- Trunk 100: Responses now stop the trunk failover, and we added bluip SIP trunking.
- Trunks: We added the option to clock any RTCP to the SIP trunk; by default video will not pass to the SIP trunk.
- User Front End: There is now a switch to add shared address book entries. We also added settings that control what fields the user sees - this includes control over the hangup tone and if video calls should be made available.
