“The South African tech industry is booming, in Cape Town and everywhere else,” says Lucien Brink, Executive Head, Products & Solutions at ICTGlobe, “and we are deploying high-value integrated business solutions to SMMEs nationwide. We give our customers superior up-time, competitive voice rates and outstanding call quality, as we continue to grow our national footprint. Our partnerships have been designed to benefit the SMME market in forms of access portals and Innovative products that expand the growth potential of our channel.”

South Africa’s largest city, Cape Town, with a population of approximately  3.5 million people, is also the country’s tech hub, its “Silicon Valley.” As of year-end 2020 550 tech companies, employing more than 40,000 people, were doing business in Cape Town.

Much like the USA, which is home to Silicon Valley and to other tech hotbeds, including Atlanta, Austin, Boston and New York, the South African tech industry is alive in well outside Cape Town in larger cities such as Durban, Pretoria, Johannesburg and Centurion, which is home to ICTGlobe Management (Pty) Ltd (ICTGlobe), a first tier ICASA licensed telecommunications end-to-end service provider of solutions for voice, connectivity and cloud services. ICTGlobe works with companies throughout South Africa – the company’s commercial footprint and infrastructure coverage extends to the whole of South Africa and to some neighboring countries.

Like many countries, South Africa has seen rising unemployment in the wake of the global Covid-19 pandemic and, even with a robust and growing tech sector, the past year-and-a-half has seen myriad South African SMMEs struggle to stay afloat.

“As an SMME, we understand how hard the pandemic has been, and remains, and we are looking to bring our telephony solutions to as many SMMEs as possible,” Mr. Brink added. “ICTGlobe empowers SMMEs to grow based on our managed services environment. Our solutions are easy and quick to deploy and seamless once they’re up and running, which increases operational efficiencies: we make it so SMMEs can access cutting-edge voice and data communications at value-add price points, which reduces overall costs.”

The company’s turnkey solutions are perfect for South African SMMEs, and ICTGlobe is working hard to connect with these enterprises and help them succeed and grow.

If you’re a South African SMME looking for the best in voice and data communications, look no further than ICTGlobe.

How Vodia Helps Hotels Not Disturb Their Guests

Vodia’s cloud PBX system enhances the Do-Not-Disturb (DND) function for hotels, allowing guests to manage their privacy through buttons in the room or on the phone. The system syncs with PMS for seamless functionality, enabling hotel operators to manually override DND when guests struggle to disable it. For critical situations, like room service follow-ups, the system allows specific extensions to bypass DND, ensuring guests are reachable when needed. VIP guest management features, guest-to-guest call restrictions and automatic resets upon checkout ensure privacy, security, and convenience, improving the guest experience while maintaining operational efficiency.

WLAN and VoIP: What You Need to Know

As businesses increasingly adopt Wireless Local Area Networks (WLAN), understanding its impact on Voice over IP (VoIP) is essential. While WLAN offers flexibility and mobility, it can lead to call quality issues due to packet loss and bursts during access point switching. To combat these challenges, organizations can utilize robust codecs like OPUS which are designed to handle packet loss effectively and employ Session Border Controllers (SBCs) to enhance jitter buffers. By incorporating these solutions, companies can ensure a more reliable VoIP experience that meets the demands of modern workplaces, allowing seamless communication without interruptions.
